FAQs

Who are the Richardsons?

We’re a family of four (Mallory/Mom, Seth/Dad, Sebastian, and Callan) who believe the world is one big classroom. We love exploring new places together; even when it means juggling naps, snacks, and the occasional meltdown in a foreign train station.

How old are your kids?

Sebastian is 4 and Callan is 1.

Where are you based?

We live in the US, but we’re happiest when our passports are full of stamps and our suitcases smell like adventure (and Swiss chocolate). We are Disney Vacation Club owners so we get to call Disney World our second home.

Isn’t traveling with kids too hard?

It’s definitely different- slower, louder, and sometimes stickier - but not impossible! The rewards are huge. Watching your kids see the world for the first time is pure magic.

How do you choose family friendly destinations?

We look for places that offer a mix of beauty, accessibility, and activities for all ages, somewhere the adults can enjoy as much as the kids. Switzerland was a perfect example.

How do you plan your trips?

We balance flexibility with structure. We usually like to plan a few must-see spots and leave some room for spontaneity (and naps). You can see how we do it here (insert link)

What do you pack for your kids?

We pack light - really! Each child has a small capsule wardrobe and we rely on a few key travel gadgets that make life easier. And we’re always prepared to do sink laundry if needed! Grab our full list here (insert link)

Do you bring carseats or rent them?

Both, depending on the destination. For long trips, we often bring our own light weight carseat (or ride safer vest); for city stays, we rely on public transport whenever possible.

How do you handle naps, meals, and meltdowns on the go?

We build in rest days, keep snacks handy, and don’t try to see everything. A slow pace = a happy family. This may be controversial, but we don’t limit screen time on travel days. Also, playground stops are lifesavers.

Do you prefer hotels or Airbnbs?

We mix it up! Apartments are great for longer stays (hello kitchen and laundry) while family friendly hotels make travel days easier.

How do you get around with kids in Europe?

Trains! They’re efficient, comfortable, and kid friendly. Our little ones loved looking out the windows through Switzerland.

Do you work with brands or tourism boards?

We have not, but we would love to partner with family friendly brands and destinations that align with our mission.

Can we feature your family or quote your content?

Absolutely- just email us first for permission and proper credit.
